Mayor Eric Garcetti declares ‘La La Land’ Day in LA to honor the film – Story

LA, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) – Tuesday, April 25th will be declared “Lala Land” day in La by Mayor Eric Garcetti honoring the movie, which received six Academy Awards and conspicuously featured several tinseltown locales.

In a service in the fore-court at City Hall, Garcetti intends to appear together with the movie’s director, Damien Chazelle, composer Justin Hurwitz, manufacturing designers David and Sandy Wasco, choreographer Mandy Moore and jewellery designer Kyle Chan to make the announcement before aerial dancers will perform a medley of dances inspired by the movie high up on the facade of City Hall.

The movie is a contemporary musical starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as two Hollywood nobodies who fall in love while attempting to create their wishes come true. The movie prominently features several L.A. locales, including the Griffith
Park Observatory, the Angels Flight railway and the Grand Central Market.

“Lala Land” acquired six Oscars in the 89th Academy Awards, including Chazelle for best director, Hurwitz for best original score, as well as the Wascos for finest production style, but in addition magnificently had the greatest picture prize taken
a way throughout the service after it was wrongly declared the victor by presenter Faye Dunaway rather of “Moon Light.”
